I'm just addressing the last part of your question concerning the noise the transmission emits at idle speed. It is normal for this type of noise to occur. There is no load on any of the gears or bearings, including the throwout bearing, so therefore, the gears and bearings can move about more freely. In a "properly" adjusted clutch linkage, the throwout bearing can, but not always, make a slight amount of noise when the pedal is depressed. If the throwout bearing has failed, this noise can be very loud. Generally speaking, there is no adjustment possible in the linkage of a hydraulic system, but a small amount of freeplay is necessary between the throwout bearing and the fingers on the clutch pressure plate, as it is on a mechanical linkage clutch system. This small clearance ensures the clutch is fully engaged when the pedal is fully released. If you can depress the pedal for about 3/4" before any resistance is felt, the amount of freeplay is about correct. The freeplay is easier felt for by pushing with your hand.
