Lars, You are correct in wanting to change the oil! It's a very good way to extend the life of your transmission. Here are 2 options: Good) Good quality, non-synthetic motor oil, 10W-30 or 10W-40. Synthetic motor oil (Mobil 1, etc.) tends to interfere with proper operation of the synchros. Better) An oil called "MTL" from a company called "Red Line lubricants". This stuff is wonderful, and works great in Saabs. It's a high-performance synthetic oil made specifically for manual transmissions, and many Saab owners (myself included) swear by it. Downside? It's expensive, about US$8.50 per quart.
