I would be wary of using synthetic oil. My '96 900SE has 57K miles and I started using synthetic Mobil 1 at around 50K miles. Just a few months ago it developed an oil leak, which turned out to be a problem with the input shaft seal (an oil seal, as I understand it) and required $600 to fix.
