If you have the original owners manual then it will tell you about this. The other things to do are; 1) If you get a ticking sound from the head when the car starts it is the tappets and will stop after few seconds. DO NOT rev the engine until this sound stops. 2) DO NOT allow the car to produce turbo boost (the orange range on gauge) until the temperature gauge is into the green. 3) DO NOT use full throttle until the car is well warmed up. The temp gauge should sit half way into the green. > > Is there any other idiosyncrasies to keep in mind? I know that I have to > > be religious about changing the oil, any recommended brands. Castrol GTX or Magnetec. Also keep a close eye on the underfloor of the car over the years. I was talking to my SAABtech about this and from his experience nearly all the cars he scraps for parts have rotted through the floor plan! Mind you I live in the UK and I think our weather would reck any car. > > Any advice would be much ap > > Julian Sweet > > jsweetnopsamneering.ucsb.edu > NJH. -----------== Posted via Deja News, The Discussion Network ==---------- http://www.dejanews.com/ Search, Read, Discuss, or Start Your Own
