Subject: Re: Recommended Tyres For 1989 900 Turbo 16V 5 door hatch?

John, When it comes to tires, I have basically sworn off the more expensive brand names. My 83 900T came from the factory with Pirellis. They lasted 28,000 miles. I bought a set of Goodyear Eagle GTs for $510. They lasted 28,000 miles. I have experimented with Nitto and Falken. For the last few years I have been using a tire from Performance Discount Tire here in the DC Metro area. It is a Grand Spirit 195/60-15, it is made my Kelly-Springfield, a subsidiary of Goodyear and the set cost me $300 mounted and balanced. The tires handle very well, are quiet on the road and last 40,000 to 60,000 miles. I had them on my 83 900T, saved them when that car was totalled. The 87 900S had Goodyears. Totalled that car on 12/12/97, so the tires are now on my 87 9000S, which came with Pirelli HPs for Sears. Ken Washington 87 9000S 87 900S 83 900T
