As someone once said, 'Don't get me started'.... In a nutshell, my '94 900S with 58,000 has been a big disappointment. So far: 38,000 - Muffler - fixed under warranty. A brand new muffler and tailpipe. 40,000 - Fuel injection unit replaced under warranty When the warranty ended, it seems, so did the reliability. Since then: 50,000 - Glove box door latch. Same fix as previous poster: disable right side latch. 55,000 - Axle seals - expensive - Washer motor - also not cheap - Rear rotors - even though all maintenance since new was at the dealer, the dealer was apparantly unable to notice at 45,000 that the rear pads were worn down enough to warrant replacement. - Idler belt pulley, replaced. 57,000 - power antenna, motor spins but antena stays put. 58,000 - rear window wiper is now inoperative. So far unfixed. This will be the only Saab I will own. I am now six months after the warranty expired, and have paid nearly $2000 for maintenance. This car has been babied, it has all of its service done at the dealer on time. It looks and drives excellent, but I can not see keeping this one or buying anotherSaab with the level of failures I have experienced. I have complained to Saab, but they only offered me a $100 token of good will. In talking with other '94 owners, what is clear is that this model, being the first of the new body style, has a few problems areas. The idler pulley on the 4cyl, the glove box failure, and the axle seals seem to be problem areas. I guess its my mistake for buying the first model year of a new car. Too bad, I do like the car very much, when expensive items are not failing, that is. Drew
