I have a 1989 Saab 900s with over 163,000 miles on it. Yesterday I lost one of the alternator belts ( fortunately Saab/ Bosch designed the unit to operate with two belts so I was still "in business" :)). I would like to replace all of the belts myself and have no problem with the alternator belts but I am wondering how the power steering belt is tensioned. Does this unit need to be removed completetely or is there a way to release tension on the belt so that it can be slipped off? Any suggestions and advice would be most appreciated.
