This was happening with my 86 900spg. Take a look at the right side inner driver joint, grab a hold of the axle and try to move it. If you can move it, this inner driver is worn. This is quite common with high mile cars. the joint sits next to the exhaust pipe and this causes the grease to be "cooked out" of the joint. The job, I did it myself, costs about $250 - $400 in parts depend on what you want done, given you must disassemble most of the front end and drive line. tony...
