I don't know how it behaves when upper joints are bad. But I haven't seen
one bad upper joint yet. The upper and lower joints are similar but the
lower one always wears out. Lower joint wear is obvious when driving over a
hole in the street (the wheel drops downwards) you hear a knocking sound.
