Subject: Front axle ball joints

Hi there. My '90 900i 16 is bugging me with some kind of STRANGE behaviour. When braking from a speed higher than 30 mph the front starts "shaking". Today I replaced the lower right ball joint which was extremely necessary. I'm not sure what kept it in one piece. Guess it was just luck that saved me. The local Saab centre told me two weeks ago "It's minimal worn out. You don't need to replace it." Thanks alot! Now the question: How does a 900 behave if the UPPER joint is damaged as well? At the moment I'm considering the change of both upper joints...after 246.000 km not a bad idea. What else could be the problem? JK'99
