Subject: 9000 2.3 Turbo.

Dear All. I have an 86 900 T16 which is starting to get a little small for my parental duties of childrens taxi. My wife has a 9000 non turbo which is nice and big, comfy etc. Non turbo engine makes it feel just a tad slow though. We will be replacing the 900 soon as it was only intended as a cheap and cheerful entry into the world of SAAB's (so I told the wife - actually I had always dreamed of the type, that turbo boost just doesn't stop giving me a big grin) and it is a bit of a tired old thing in the bodywork and trim departments.(still strong at 190 000 Miles +, yeah I know, it's hardly broken in) Anyway to cut to the chase. I was thinking about the 9000 2.3 T in an automatic with a hatchback body. I do a mix of fiddly city driving and motorway cruising, hence the auto preference. My wifes is a saloon so no point in copying that, for the sake of flexibility (I also prefer the look). I already know that the cabin is just what I am looking for. The question is, am I going to get all nostalgic about the 900's performance or does the 2.3 T come close? What is the reliability like? To a certain extent I don't mind regular bills on a cheapish second hand car it still works out cheaper than buying new, I just don't want to let myself in for a world full of hurt, so any well known failings or hints and tips? Answers to Antony.Leggattnopsameswater.co.uk Thanking you in advance Cheers Tony.
