The 5-speed 9-3s have either 185hp/194lbft torque in base form or 200hp/209lbft torque in SE form. However, the automatic versions of both cars has 185hp and only 170lbft of torque -- significantly less! That's because the current auto trans can't take the extra torque. This will change in October, when the auto trans will be upgraded to handle the same power as the 5-speeds. Accessory armerest from Saab USA accessories catalogue is inexpensive and works great.
