If your alarm is similar to the one on my '93 9000, then it's very easy to disable the motion detector while keeping the alarm enabled for forced entry. When you exit the car and go to lock the door, turn the key to the locked position and hold it in the locked position for about three seconds. You should hear the alarm 'chirp' once to indicate that the motion sensor has been temporarily disabled. The motion sensor will be active again the next time you lock the car *unless* you hold the key in the locked position as I described. It's also possible to program the alarm to always leave the motion sensor disabled, and the sensitivity of the motion sensor can be adjusted as well.
