Hi, everyone: Dick, the local Amsoil salesman was kind enough to send me some info on Amsoil and comparison data with other synthetics. Unfortunately, most of it is in Engineering Specifications that I don't fully understand. To the extent I do understand them, Amsoil looks superior to all other synthetics compared in the info sent. Mobil 1 seems to be a fairly close 2nd. *But*, I can't really tell how these numbers translate into real-world performance in an Automobile Engine. Amsoil may be way overkill, but I'd add that "overkill" is better than "underkill." If Dick sees this message, I wonder if he'd be willing to post the numbers to this group so I could get some feedback from many people. It's no doubt some trouble to enter the numbers if he does not already have them on his computer. I'm not using my Saab Dealer for Service anymore--never had confidence in them, and they don't have the equipment or arrangements with another local shop to do a wheel alignment. A dealer should be able to completely maintain your car or arrange for it. My new Service shop specializes in Saabs and Volvos and has been in busi- ness for 27 years. He loaned me his personal car this past week while they worked on my car. Sure, it was an 86 with 250,000 miles, but I'm embarassed to admit it tracked down the road better than my 95 900 Turbo. So much for the Dealer and Gas Stations. "Signature Service"--my butt. If he can keep his car running that well, he's got my business. Pete
