With frequent change intervals--3k miles or less, just about any major branded oil will do just fine. Why? Most driving isn't going to deplete the good stuff in today's oils, and can even take the heat and abuse older turbos inflict. For manual gearboxes, I've personally had good experiences with Redline MTL. Nice balance of qualities. Works great in cold weather, yet not too slippery (for the sake of the syncros). Paul Paul
