Well, not *exactly* the same! Across various years, trim levels, and turbo vs. non-turbo, there were a number of variations. Gear ratios changed, and you have to pay attention to the type of the front mount (hydraulic or not). And, some have the gear-lever-centering mechanism inside the tranny, and some don't. Oh, and the couplers for the driveshafts (sometimes called "tulips") are 2 different sizes. Moral: you should either get a transmission with the same part number, or find someone who is very knowledgable about these details to see what will work in your car.
