The obvious first place to check are the fuses. The high beams are fused separately from the low beams. Also look at the headlight relay that switches the high beams, and the filament monitor relay (if included in your car). Next would be the connectors and wiring to the headlights and the headlights themselves [it's *possible* that both high beam filaments are open, but not terribly likely (both at once? and high beams get less use?)].
