Subject: AC Clutch

The air conditioning compressor clutch on my '87 900 no longer engages when the switch is activated. I know that the compressor/clutch is OK, because direct application of 12v to the clutch positive lead causes the clutch to engage properly. For some reason, I am not getting electrical power to the clutch. I have checked the obvious (no blown fuses), but I do not have a complete AC circuit diagram, and do not know how to test the AC relay or dashboard switch. I am reluctant to start indiscriminately start swapping electrical parts because of the cost involved (it is a Saab, after all) and there may be electrical components in the system of which I am unaware. Any advice would be appreciated, and a circuit description/component map would be terrific. Thanks in advance Nacra1nopsamhlink.net
