Patrick, I don't think the $3000 will buy you the quattro option, much less any performance mods. And then, there's the "dull" factor. Friend of mine has a '95(?) A6 quattro with the V6. I walked up to it, thought I was looking at a Taurus. Took it for a ride, thought I was driving a Taurus. (If I had to pay the service bill, I'd know I *wasn't* driving a Taurus!) I'm exaggerating a bit, but I don't think the newer Audis have the "character" the Saabs have. Handling/styling/features-wise, I think they were much closer to parity in the '80's than they are now. On the other hand, when it's snowing, it's the Audi keys I reach for first...
