3-door or 4-door sedan?

If 4-door, could be a common grounding problem with the taillights.  

Andrews, Inc (www.andrewsofprinceton.com) has a FAQ regarding this problem.

Otherwise, it could be one of any number of things (encouraging, aren't I?).
