If it's a factory Clarion radio, there's your explanation. I've never seen one that worked 100% correctly, and problems relating to turn-on/turn-off are common. I corrected one such problem in my 9000 by swapping out the *equalizer*! Go figure. If you're inclined, you may be able to open up the radio and find some loose solder joints to touch-up. I've had some luck with this technique, but it's the exception rather than the rule. I can't speak from personal experience, but I'm told the dealers have a reasonably inexpensive (US$125) program where you can trade-in your radio for a reconditioned one. Of course, that same $125 would buy you an OK Sony radio that will work forever!
