I cannot tell about the noise. Sorry. High octane gas will give better performance, but the Saab has a sensor that will automatically adjust for lower octane gas if you use it. The sensor opens the turbo wastegate (the boost gauge will fall rapidly or "bounce") and retards the spark timing when there is excessive pinging due to low octane. --------------------- John R.
