Subject: Re: Why not synthetic oil in gearbox?

You can use synthetic oil in the gearbox in the classic 900. I've used it in my '82 900T since I bought it in 1984, and have used it in all my classic 99s and 900s. The '94 900 came out with a warning not to use synthetic in the gearbox, but Saab has since come out with their own spec synthetic that they put in the '98 and later models at the factory. --------------------- John R.
