Had exactly the same problem with my 1990 900 Aero. The shop I go to were happy to fix it without replacing the whole assembly, they just stuck the wheel back on and were kind enough to drill a tiny hole though and put a clip on it so it wont happen again. They reckon they've fixed the same fault on about 30 cars. And they only charged me A$65 (about US$40) to do it. Of course it happened in torrential rain and the Rainex on the windscreen made driving for the next 2 days in heavy rain no problem until I could get it into the shop. Gerard...
