On the later 900 turbo models (especially the front mount), and the pre-91 9000 cars, the lower engine mounts are 'hydraulic'--the mountings are dampened by a gel as well as rubber. What happens is that lots of torque is put on the front mount in the 900, tearing the thing apart. On the 9000, oil from the filter and the front of the engine drip/leak onto the mounts, causing early failur of the mount. No, the engine's not going to fall out, but you'll notice other effects on both series of cars. Paul
