Dear Glenn, Sounds like a bit of a heap unless the asking price is very low. Knocking noise could be many things - not a good sign. The Oil leak is probably from the rear oil pump seal or crankshaft seal or even the steering rack. Bodywork rust on a 92 is definatley a bad repair - I have never seen rust on a car of that age. The best advice is to get a Saab specialist to check it over thouroughly if you have one in your area. Good luck John
