Subject: Re: Saab 9-3 or a BMW 328i

Of course this is a tricky question, especially when posted in two newsgroups together. The happy Saab-drivers will of course praise their Saab (and most of the Saab-drivers are happy with it) and the BMW-drivers will praise their BMW. I'm an incredible Saab lover but I still try to remain a little bit objective. Here is my idea. The Saab Turbo is one of it's kind, you don't find a 4 cylinder in that region with that performance. The interior is indeed build as a plane cockpit and the handling is superior. The beamer 328i is a great engine and fun to drive, but I find the dash boaring and from 100 m away you can't say wether it is a BMW or the Toyota Avensis. The posting from the men who said he had nothing but trouble with his 9-5, well I suppose everyone can have this kind of trouble : My best friend bought a 325i a few years ago : fully loaded : price 1.500.000 BEF ~= 40.000 $. He had nothing but trouble with it : car stalled, airco didn't function, there were air bulbs on the doors, BMW couldn't do a thing about it (they never found what it was) and he sold it after a year with a loss of 500.000 BEF ~=13.500 $. I suppose every brand has it once in a while. If your feelings speak, and if you want an incredible car with a lot of personality, go for the Saab.
