I can't deal with the turbo issue but the non-standard radio was, I believe, implemented in an effort to reduce theft. On my first Saab, the stock radio/cassette was a top-of-the-line Sony and it was stolen 3 times before I replaced it with a removeable Kenwood head unit. My present Saab has the Saab/Clarion unit and I haven't been bothered or concerned about it. As for sound quality, it's mediocre at best but (1) I lease so I wouldn't change it anyway, (2) I haven't ever heard a sound system worthy of the bother/expense and (3), if it were that good, I'd probably find it distracting. ;-) Kal
