Its well worth doing, even if CD carbs arn't as sensitive to dirt as fixed jets. The pump was unlike any described in the haynes manual. I can take the top half off, but it appears the filter is integral to the valves. Must be a throw away part! Is yours a B-engine like mine? Also I notice H-engine cars (82>) have recirculatary fuel systems, which may help prevent vapour lock. christian
