The '87 900 which I smashed does appear to have a slightly higher bumper than my old '83, though. With the '83, I was driving on icy roads in Michigan, and tried to dodge a suddenly stopped car (I didn't brake, so I wasn't nosing down) and my bumper still went under theirs. I only clipped them and broke the plastic cover of my turn signal though, but of course their bumper didn't get anything. White Flame (aka David Holz) http://fly.to/theflame
