Subject: ? 96 900 SE

I have a 1996 Saab 900 SE. The engine fan stays on for various times after I turn the engine off. It stays on for less than a minute. This happens in warm weather or if the car has been idling for a bit. The idiot gauge shows "normal". It seems that the engine needs to cool off at certain times just a bit more after I turn the engine off. Even if I have been "gentle". Is this normal? Also, is there anyway to up the performance without affecting the warranty? I love the car, though wish it had a turbo six and wings!!!
