Subject: brake & blinker light problem '85 900 turbo

I have a 1985 900T sedan. Starting yesterday, when I hit the brakes the blinkers will not blink and the dashboard blinker indicator goes out. I have checked the bulbs but all were OK. When I use the brakes the brake lights work fine. And, the blinkers work fine when I am not hitting the brake pedal. BTW, I did just replace the driver's rear light package from a junk yard -- just the plastic, outside part; I kept the wired part, unplugged it from outside part, then plugged it into the replacement piece after I screwed it into the body. Since this outside piece seems to have no electrical purpose, this could be a bad coincidence. Or, might I have yanked a wire that connects the wired part of the light package? If so, how come the lights work but not at the same time? Is there a critical relay somewhere that may have been dislodged or shorted out? If so, can you help me locate it? Suggestions, please. Thanks. -- Igor
