Subject: few 87 9000T questions

I appreciate any answers to these varied questions... I have a 87 manual 9000T, love the car, has great power, few items need fixing: 1. The fan inside the dash housing that does the climate control. Its going out, makes all kinds of noises, sounds like the fan bearing is bad. Works fine on high setting, but One or Two setting makes horrific noise. Is this a job that can be undertaken on ones own, and if so, do you go at it from under the hood or by pulling the dash? 2. Im in need of a new clutch, what (if any) do people have as to a cost estimate for a new clutch? I have a friend who used to work on them say that a new clutch is *very* simple in the 9000's and should take an hour or two, tops, by a qualified mechanic. 3. Along the clutch question, is it worth it to get a high performance clutch for it? I have heard that too much torque in a 9000 will blow out the pinion gear in the transmission. This is also a concern since I have the turbo turned up a bit above the standard setting :) Yes, I know, im killing the rings, but its soooo much fun.... Thanks in advance, any input appreciated.... -- David M. Way Way Architects, P.C.
