Craig, You could get creative and have the installer tinker with the trunk locking unit (located on the left of the trunk lid, you'll see two silver screws & washers). This will unlock it, but for releasing it, that's different. I've given much though as to how I can hook something up to release it, and the simple answer is, I can't. You'd have to attach a cable to the little knob (you'll know what I mean, should you examine the latch closer) and then the the cable to some sort of momentary on/off switch, perhaps magnetic.
