I wouldn't suspect the basic idle setting unless it's come loose - they usually don't change that much. I would look first for anything interfering with the operation of the throttle linkage. Could be a sticking cable, or even the gas pedal getting caught on a floor mat. Basically, check to see that the arm on the throttle body returns fully to it's stop when the pedal is released. If that fails, it might be time for an idle control valve...
