Subject: Headlight Problem - '87 900

Hi, I recently replaced the driver's side headlamp assembly (myself), because the old one was cracked and rain water kept shorting out the bulb. It worked fine for a few weeks, then I started to notice them going on and off, as if something was loose. When I would slam the door, or fiddle with the switch, they would come back on. Well, now they don't work at all. I can't get an appointment with a decent mechanic in my area until June (I live in New York), and need those lights working by Friday night. Any suggestions as to what I can do myself? A friend thinks I may have shorted a wire causing the relay to blow, and suggests I not try to repair this myself, but I'm sort of desperate. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me, Lisa aboojanopsamcom
