I need to warn all readers of a car transport company called Mirliss located in Seal Beach (by Long Beach), California. I contracted with them to move my collector car from Los Angeles to San Francisco. Besides taking more than a week in transit (it is only a 400 mile trip), arriving filthy with muddy shoe prints all over the carpet, and having a broken door sill because the company did not know how to open the car doors, the owner of the company refused to honor her own coupon stating that she would not use it for instate moves but only for interstate moves. As I recall, she said that she did not make enough money on the shorter transports to honor the coupon. Her coupon says nothing of the sort, claiming only that it need be used to "get a $50 discount off our already low prices." I am filing a complaint with the Attorney Generals Office and am filing suit in state court to determine if this is a common business practice of Mirliss. My purpose of this posting is two fold, first I wanted to post to the newsgroups so that enthusiasts will not be defrauded as I feel I was, and, second, I wanted any other folks with similar experiences to contact me for possible inclusion in the suit. I strongly feel that Internet fraud and deceptive business practices should be aggressively pursued.
