Subject: Re: advice needed--new tranny? price

You should be able to find a good SAAB repair shop in Tulsa, or I can recommend Taliaferro Imports in Springfield, MO 417-831-7222. Call and talk to John and he will advise you what you are looking at. Sounds like you might be only 1.5 hours or so from Springfield. Alternately, I can also recommend George's Imports in Kansas City. I have had work done both places, but I think you are closer to Springfield. Good luck! <daynasboynopsameja.com> wrote in message news:7imnlv$v6t$1nopsam1.deja.com... > have a 1989 900s w/ 149,000 miles. new to me in january of this year. > my shop is telling me i now need a new tranny, and that it'll cost me > $4200. seems a bit on the high side to me? 3000 for the tranny and > 1160 for the labor. where do i go from here? anyone know about the > tranny cost and where i might get one cheaper. they're telling me the > main issue w/ it is the spider gears are loose and the pinion shaft is > loose. anyone have any advice on parting it out if i don't decide to > have the work done?? > > thanks. i am in southeastern kansas, near the ok-ks-mo-ar border. > > > Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ > Share what you know.
