After trying every hi-performance tire imaginable on five Saab turbos since '82, I've finally found the nearly perfect tire: Firestone SZ-50. Check out the Tire Rack's website. At these following site, click on "Firestone," then "Firehawk SZ50," then "Tire test results": http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tirebrand_f.html At this site, click on "Ultra-high performance": http://www.tirerack.com/tires/surveyresults_f.html Here, the SZ50 scores #1 in wet traction and never below #4 in any category among 25 other "ultra-high performance" tires, including wear. The tire's wet performance is absolutely astounding, and here in Louisiana I have ample opportunity to test tires under wet conditions. What makes it even more amazing is that they only cost $110 each in 205-55ZR-16, making them close to the least expensive Z-rated tire available. They don't make a 205-50ZR-16. As soon as these Michelin Pilots wear out on my Aero, I'll be fitting Firestones on in their place.
