dean: easy answer. you need to have the cv joints on the front end checked. i had the same problem on my 88 SPG. they cost a bit (like $300-400) for parts and labor, but boy is it worth it once you can drive on the highway again. thats probably why you got a deal on it! this is a typical problem in older saabs. my mechanic explained that the joints are packed with grease, and if the seal comes loose then the grease spins out, leaving no lube. or, since the joints are near the exhaust manifold, the grease gets cooked out. either way, bad news. hope this helps. danny Dean wrote: > I jut bought a 1987 900s, very clean and got a deal on it.
