The fuel economy of the 9000T is quite good, especially considering it's performance. But... I'd be wary of that automatic transmission, especially if you're going to be towing. Search this group on DejaNews and see how many 9000 auto-trans horror stories you see. The 5-speed, OTOH, is a great transmission. It shifts very well, and is quite durable. The synchros tend to wear out, but very slowly and only at high mileage. Good luck!
