While the benefits are clear there is one disadvantage to synthetic oil that is overlooked; that is its lesser ability to hold additives and contaminants in suspension. Fossil oils are better in this regard due to their natural molecular structure. This best all-round oil, imho, is a semi-synthetic. Combines the lower friction, lower pour point, higher temp performance of synthetic with the additive and contaminant carrying ability of fossil. Todd
