Subject: Help: Convertible top problem

I have a 1993 900 convertible. Yesterday, as I tired to put the top back up, I was nearly decapitated by the left side of the roof. As the top extended from the down position, the right side looked exactly the way it should, but the left side was jerky, hanging lower than usual, crooked and looked like one of those pictures in which someone has broken their arm and their elbow bends the wrong way. And when I fastened the clamps, there was no tension on the left side, but there was on the right. Any clues? I cannot get into the dealer for over a week. Thanks much, Al --
