Subject: Re: 88 auto tranny question

I had the bands adjusted and atf changed with 2 flushes, the one that was easy to reach ( underneath ) was well out. The mechanic made up a spacer to do the adjustments. The filter was cleaned out and refitted, new gasket etc. The trans is now much better and smoother although there is still a clunk on change up between 30/40 mph but seems fine elsewhere, change up on hard acceleration is now good again with no slipping/flaring, but the clunk does worry me. Saab main dealer here in uk wants 3000 uk pounds to supply and fit bw37. cheers richard
