The Viggen engine and the 9000 Aero engine is NOT the same. The Viggen uses a B235 from the 9-5. The Aero used a B234. While they are basicly the same configuration, the B235 internal components are lighter and smaller. Most of the parts are not interchangable. Additionally, the engine management systems are radically different. They both use Trionic, but different versions. I don't know the Aero version for sure (T5?) but the Viggen (and 9-5) use the T7 version. The T7 has a lot more sensors than previous versions. It has a Mass Air flow meter and a MAP sensor. In fact, it has three pressure sensors, Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP), Charge Absolute Pressure (CAP), and Atomshpere Absolute Pressure (AAP which is located in the PCM). Also the T7 uses a fly-by-wire throttle system. The driver makes a "torque request" by pushing the accell pedal. The pedal operates a cable that goes to the throttle body. Inside the throttle body, is a pot that is operated by the cable. The PCM then moves the throttle plate based on the "torque request" and current engine conditons. The system has a limp-home mode that locks the throttle plate to the cable. If this occurs, the fault must be repaired and the limp-home mode must be manually reset.
