Bob, It sounds as though when you fitted the new motor, it wasn't in the 'park' position. Take the linkage off the motor again, operate the motor using the wiper switch and allow the motor to park itself. Then reconnect the linkage in the position that you first noted. It should be set right then. Hope this helps, Pete.
