This has been stated before on this board and supports Kiddogo problems: Saab used a bad lot of automatic transmissions in 1986-1987. That sort of explains why most of the surviving Saab of that era are manuals. But then, it is your money, your choice, maybe you will be lucky and get one of the automatics that has no problems.
