I don't know what the antifreeze does to the numbers because my table >is for >pure water. Yes, Eric Law also suggested that the cap could be at fault, and recall that I live at 7000 ft. Due to decreased atmospheric pressure, water boils at a considerably lower temp than at sea level. The overflow tanks seems to be OK, and the water boils out the cap. Perhaps the gauge is correct and the engine is not overheating, just getting hot enough to boil because of a defective cap. Thank you, I will have the cap checked as soon as possible George F. Johnson
