Subject: Help!!

Today I repaired a broke shifter coupling....However it is very hard to shift gears....requires alot of strenght..to get to first i have to slam it in second them really hard and fast to first....on down shifts with high RPM's and sometimes low, the gears grind bad and will not go in gear...it really sucks...did i put the 10mm nuts on too tight..it is semitrical so i dont think i put in upside down or anything....what could be the deal...do i need to lube it up...when i hold in the clutch and start shifting fast into all the gears hard it seems to become a little looser...any suggestions...Please help!!! it works fine when the car is off....when the car is on and i hold in the clutch i cant shift in to 3rd or any higher gear without it grinding bad...it is really hard to put it in gear like something is blocking it..
