There is quite a few screws that must be removed. The Haynes manual is correct that the upper facia must be removed to access the panel lights. When it mentions applying gentle pressure to the rear, it is refering to the upper facia AFTER all the screws have been removed. Basically some screws behind the speaker panels and one in the glovebox needs to be removed. If you go to www.townsendimports.com and look in their technical documents section, there should be a fairly detialed walk-through of the process. Shouldn't take you more than an hour. I replaced several bulbs when I bought mine 1 1/2 years ago. Happy SAABing.
